About this Performance Opportunity
At Thrive, we believe dance can be a force for connection and joy — not just for our own community, but for the wider community around us. The Holiday Performance Tour is our chance to bring that spirit of dance directly to the people who need a little extra joy during the holiday season: neighbors at retirement communities, folks gathered at public tree lightings, and friends throughout Louisville.
This is intentionally different from our spring recital. Where our end-of-season May/June recital is our big, traditional stage show, the Holiday Performance Tour is:
Lower-key — informal performances at community locations, not a full theatrical production
Lower-cost — a flat $45 fee that covers participation and costume rental
Lower-lift — no tickets, no seating charts, and dancers choose only the shows that work for their family's schedule
If your dancer is looking for the traditional big-stage recital experience, that's what our spring recital is for. The Holiday Performance Tour is about showing up, spreading joy, and being part of something bigger than ourselves — a little more relaxed, and built for the busy holiday season.

December Holiday Performance Tour Participation
The Holiday Performance Tour is open to all currently enrolled dancers.
Unlike recital, this performance tour is opt-in — we assume your dancer will not be participating unless you sign them up. There's no obligation to join, and no penalty for sitting this one out.
If you'd like your dancer to participate, you can sign up for as many or as few shows as you'd like — it's completely up to your family's schedule and preferences.
For all dancers in 3 to 4’s, 4 to 5’s, 5 to 6’s, 6 to 7’s, 7 to 9’s, Intermediate and Advanced Intermediate levels, dancers will automatically be learning a holiday dance in class.
For dancers in our company levels (Foundations, Junior Company, Senior Prep, Apprentice and Senior Company), the following classes will be learning holiday dances:
Foundations Jazz
Junior Company Ballet (both sections)
Senior Prep/Junior Company Hip Hop (both sections)
Senior Prep Jazz
Senior Prep Ballet
Apprentice Jazz
Apprentice Modern
Senior Company Ballet
Senior Company Tap
Holiday Tour Fees + Payment Plans
Participation in the Holiday Performance Tour is $45 per dancer. This flat fee covers:
Participation in as many shows as your dancer signs up for
Costume rental
Costume Return Costumes for the Holiday Performance Tour are rented, not purchased. All costumes must be returned by December 19, 2026. Any costume not returned, or returned damaged/lost, will incur a $75 fee.
Payment Options By default, your $45-per-dancer fee is due in full at the time of registration. If you'd like to spread the cost out instead, we offer two shorter payment plans:

Holiday Performance Tour participation is $45 per dancer, and it's due in full at the time of registration by default. If you'd rather spread it out, we offer a couple of shorter payment plans — just let us know by the deadline so we can set it up.

Performance Locations
The Holiday Performance Tour includes a mix of performance locations across the weekend of December 4–6th and on December 12th:
The Pinnacle of Louisville - 12/5/26 at 10:30 am: Thrive dancers will perform for residents at Pinnacle of Louisville, a memory care community, as part of our Holiday Performance Tour. This intimate stop lets dancers connect closely with residents, hand out handmade cards and cookies made in class, and spread joy through dance. Dancers may bring 1 additional family member to this performance
The Forum at Brookside - 12/5/26 at 10:30 am: Thrive dancers are back at The Forum at Brookside, performing for residents as part of our Holiday Performance Tour! This lively, larger community always brings incredible energy, and we love the chance to celebrate the season with them — dancing with heart and handing out handmade cards and cookies made in class in the weeks leading up to the event. Dancers may bring up to 2 additional family members to this performance.
Light Up St. Matthews - 12/5/26: Kick off the holidays at one of our favorite outdoor traditions! Watch Thrive dancers perform together in a big, festive show, then stick around for train rides, kids' activities, Santa photos, free cookies + hot chocolate, and the grand lighting of Brown Park at 6:00 PM. Free and open to everyone — bring the whole family! Seating is first come, first served (standing room recommended); lawn chairs welcome. This year, we’ll have two different performance opportunities:

Westport Village - 12/12 at 3:00 pm: Join us for an outdoor holiday performance on the green space between Bend and Zen and Tunie's Boutique, as part of a special partnership between Thrive and Westport Village. Watch our dancers bring holiday cheer to the shopping center in a festive show for the whole community, then stick around to enjoy the season — grab a bite at one of the surrounding restaurants and cafes, or get a head start on your holiday shopping at the shops nearby. Free and open to everyone, rain or shine. Bring the whole family and come celebrate the holidays with us! Seating is first come, first served (standing room only).
How to Sign Up
Registration opens August 28, 2026 through the
When you sign up, you'll be able to:
See the time, location, and audience capacity for each individual performance
Choose which show(s) you'd like your dancer to participate in — sign up for one, a few, or all of them
Sign-up closes October 15, 2026. Because of the logistics involved in coordinating with our host venues and their staff, we're unable to accommodate late registrations after this date — please make sure to sign up by the deadline if you'd like your dancer to participate.
Here’s what to expect when registering:
Step 1: Log into your Parent Portal
Log into your Parent Portal to begin the registration process for the Holiday performance Tour.
Step 2: Navigate to the registration tab
Click on “Registration” - you can find that either on the top of the page or on the left side of the page.
Step 3: Select your performances + check out
Make sure you have “Holiday Performance Tour” selected. Once you do, you can check the boxes next to performance options per student, then complete registration.
